Baking Fish

Fresh fish is perhaps one of the healthiest, low-fat foods you can eat.  The healthiest way to prepare fish is to bake it.  It is also an easy, quick method of preparations.  Follow the steps below to enjoy baked fish.

1) Rinse fish under cold, running water and gently dry with a paper towel.  If you are baking a whole fish rinse the inside, as well.  Preheat oven to 425 degrees.

2) Place aluminum foil on a baking pan for quick cleanup.  Spray aluminum foil with non-stick cooking spray.  Place fish on baking pan skin-side down.

3) Season fish with salt and pepper and a small pad of butter for flavor.  Measure the thickest part of the fish and bake for 5-10 minutes per inch.

4) Back fish with a mixture of cut vegetables such as squash and carrots to have an all-in-one meal.

5) Dip fish in beaten egg and coat with breadcrumbs and bake the same way to get the taste of "fried fish" without all of the fat and calories.
